St. Thomas U.P. School, Kurumulloor

Rev. Fr. Thomas Poothathil, Founder of St. Thomas Asylum at Kaipuzha, founded on June 7, 1927 St Thomas Primary School, keeping in view the proposed St. Joseph’s Congregation. This was upgraded into a U.P. School in 1955. An auditorium was constructed in the Platinum Jjubilee year as the memorial of the Rev.Fr.Thomas Poothathil the founder of the congregation.

 

AUP School, Changaleeri, Mannarkad, Palakkad, Kerala

Changaleeri AUP School is the only public School in Kumaramputhur Panchayath covering four wards from 9 to 12. In 1924 this institution was taken over by a respected man named Sankaran Nair Paramel Pattam. As a result of his tireless efforts, the institution was recognised as Changaleeri Elementary School. Then in 1939, Changaleeri AUP School emerged as a full elementary school including 5th standard. Later between 1965 - 1967 6th and 7th standards were added and became Changaleeri higher elementary school. In 2003 after the death of the founder manager and first Head Master Sri Paramel Pattam Sankaran Nair, the school passed through the management of his daughter Srimati Narayanikutty and then Harris Karunakurshi. Since December 2010, the school has been operating under Kottayam based Sannyasini Sabha, St. Joseph's Congregation. The Superior General of the Congregation is the Manager of this Institution. Sr. Annie John and Sr. Saumy were the former managers of this institution. Now Sr. Anitha SJC is the Manager of the school. About one thousand children are studying here, in this school.
