Mangalore Bethany Sisters reached here in 1964 in order to run the Msgr. Uralil Memorial Hospital. After six years of service, they decided to leave on account of certain practical difficulties. Thus, as suggested by Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil, the St. Joseph’s Congregation was entrusted with the administration of this Hospital, and was donated a building with the property of about 0.52 hectare. Srs. Bosco, Angela, Petritia, Silvia, Sophy, Augustine started staying here on May 1, 1970, when Msgr. Peter Uralil blessed the Convent.
The former Superiors of this Convent are Srs. Bosco, Benjamin, Mariatta, Lucina, Gertrude, Mettilda, James, Gemma, Lucina, Elsius, Sr. Virgin, Sr. Anne Goretti, Sr. James, Sr. Stephen, Sr. James, Sr. Anitha and Sr. Janet . Now Sr. Alin Tresa is the superior of this convent.
