Vadinar, a seaside village, 145 km from Rajkot, is now on the historical map on account of Kandla Port Trust (KPT) and Indian Oil corporation (IOC). The KPT started the KPT School on August 9, 1979. Later the Sisters of St. Ann of Providence made a contract in May 1984 with KPT and IOC, at the latter’s request to run the School for three years.
In 1987 the sisters of St. Joseph’s Congregation agreed to take over the management of this School, under a fresh contract with KPT and IOC, mainly owing to the persuasion of Bishop Mar Gregory Karotemprel. Thus Srs. Elsius, Vineetha, Salvi and Flavia were sent to this place. Sr. Elsius was appointed Superior of the community and Manager of the School, and Sr. Vineetha the Principal. They were given accommodation in one of the quarters of KPT. Rev. Jose George Varickasseril CMI, Vicar General of Rajkot diocese, blessed this House on August 15, 1987. After four years the Sisters moved in to a building, specially constructed for them by the KPT. Bishop Mar Gregory Karotemprel CMI of Rajkot blessed it on April 23, 1991.
In 2000 Management of the school handover to the Diocese and now sisters are working as a staff. Srs. Elsius, Vineetha ,Crispin, Vinaya and Sr.Salvi were appointed as a Manager and Sr. Saleema, Sr. Flowery and Sr.Flavia also served here as Principal. Former superiors are Srs.Elsius, Crispin, Vinaya, Salvi, Sr. Ann, Sr. Sibia, Sr. Jeesa, Sr. Yelda, Sr. Neena, and now Sr. Marisa is serving as a superior of this community.
