The sisters serving in Caritas Hospital used to stay in a building of the Hospital. Later they shifted the residence to an old building, owned by the diocese, in accordance with the wishes of Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry. Rev. Fr. Stephen Chollampel blessed this on July 15, 1980. The pioneer members of this Convent are Srs. Alphonsa, Philippina, Piuslet, Lucy, anatole, Damian, Mathews, Peter, Xavier, Sophy, Lititia, Alin Tresa, Johnsia, amala, Deepthy, Flower, Smitha and Maria.
Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry laid the foundation stone of the present building on February 24, 1983, and the Convent was blessed by him on March 19, 1984. The financial assistance received from Msgr. Michael of Cologne Archdiocese, Germany, is gratefully remembered.
