The Vicar of Neendoor, Rev. Fr. Mathew Karukakuttyil and the parishioners made a representation to the Bishop with a request to have a Convent in the Parish. Consequently Sr. Gonzalo as H.M. and Sr. Dennis as Asst. were appointed in St. Michael’s L.P. School on June 1, 1971.
On June 10, 1971, the first death anniversary of Sr. Josephina, the Sisters started staying in a house, belonging to Mr. Vettikat. Srs. Dennis, Gonzalo and Josephine were the first members. After four months, owing to technical reasons the Sisters had to move in to Kaipuzha Convent. Thus it became necessary to start the construction of a Convent in the plot of land, donated by the Parish. Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry laid the foundation stone of the building on December 21, 1971, and the work started with an initial amount of Rs. 5,000/-, contributed by Rev. Fr. Luke Pathiyil. A part of the building was completed in three months and Bishops Mar Thomas Tharayil and Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry blessed the Convent on March 19, 1972.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Poothathil, a brother of the Founder of the Congregation, had earmarked a property of 0.8 hectare in his will and testament for the construction of a Chapel. The relatives of Rev. Fr. Joseph donated an amount equivalent to the price of this land to the Convent. Thus a Convent Chapel was constructed. It was blessed on November 8, 1975 by Mar Sebastian Mankuzhikary, Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam.
With the help and support of Rev. Fr. Mathew Pulikoottil, the then Vicar, of the Vincent de Paul Society, and of Messrs. Chackochan Puthenpurackal and Chackochan Areeparambil, Nirmala Nursery School was established on July 25, 1972. The Hosanna Tailoring Institute was opened on October 31, 1978. Later this Institute was closed down when the construction of the Home for the Aged started.
The contributions received from the Priests of the Parish, Mr. Luke Puthenpurackal, the family of Mr. Ouseph Thachet, Chemmachel family and many others, financially or otherwise, are thankfully remembered.
Srs. Dennis, Aloysius, Francis, Dominic, Martin, Maximin, Ancy, Leo, Lisieux and Maximin, Sr. Kusumam, Sr. Flowerlet, Sr. Vandana, Sr. Stephen,are the former Superiors of this Convent. At Present Sr. Jino appointed as a superior of this house.

(ii) St. Thomas Home for the Aged
In compliance with the wishes of Rev. Fr. Luke Pathiyil and the encouragement of Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry, it was resolved to construct a Home for the Aged in the plot of land, donated by Fr. Luke Pathiyil. This Home is intended to be a safe haven for the aged, but affluent, who are left with no one to care for them at the fag end of life.
Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry blessed this on December 8, 1991. Mrs. Chechamma Stephen Uralil, the first inmate of this Home, started staying here on January 16,1992. Mrs. Mariamma Chacko Maramangalam later joined her. Both of them contributed a sum of Rs. 150,000/- each, and are now permanent members. At present 12 inmates are residing in this institution with peaceful mind. Sr.Dennis is the in-charge of the old age home.
