Bishop Mar Alexander Choolaparambil blessed this Convent, the Mother House of St. Joseph’s Congregation, on July 3, 1928. The same day Srs. Josephina, Thomasia, Ignatia, Kochuthresia and Magdalena, the first five members of the Congregation received religious habit from the Bishop. Thus on this auspicious day the St. Joseph’s Congregation, with its particular aim and charism of serving the underprivileged and the handicapped, came into existence.
Srs. Katharina and Johanna of the Visitation Congregation were appointed to impart religious formation to the first five members.
