Started as St. Joseph’s Convent on July 3, 1957, this was re-christened Josgiri Convent on May 28, 1987. Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpura, the Vicar of Ettumanoor blessed it at a simple ceremony, and Srs. Francis and Regina, the first members started staying in a thatched house. Later Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil officially blessed this Convent on February 2, 1958.
The foundation stone of the new building of the Convent was laid by Rev. Fr. Charath on July 16, 1958, and the newly constructed chapel was blessed on August 15, 1960 by Rev. Fr. Mattathil.
Srs. Francis, Thomasia, Agnes, Celina, Berchmans, Georgia, Alex, Lisia, Basil, Johnsy, Juliet, Elsitta, Jolly, Virgin, Regi, Anatsy, Bincy and Prasanth are the former Superiors of this Convent. Sr. Jolly is the present superior of this convent.
