With the encouragement and support of Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry, this Convent was started on September 5, 1975, mainly for the convenience of the Sisters, studying in B.C.M. College. Srs. Georgia and Joslet along with 16 Juniors are the first members of this House.
The foundation stone of the present building was laid by Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry on august 29, 1985, the opening day of the Platinum Jubilee of Kottayam Diocese. The construction work started only on September 8, 1986. Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry blessed the Convent and the hostel on June 16, 1990.
Further suggestions and plans included starting an institute for the terminally ill, who have no one to care for. Even shifting the Generalate to this building was once thought of. But later sensing the need of the times, a women’s hostel was given priority.
Srs. Georgia, Celine, Julia, Annet, Therese, Sibia, Lisieux, Ann Goretti,Dennis. Sr.Felix Sr. Ann Maria, Sr. Lincy, Sr. Merlin, Sr. Janet, Sr. Liza Jose, Sr. Treesa Maria, Sr. Claret are the former Superiors. Now Sr.Lekha is the superior and warden of this house.
